MILFORD DELAWARE'S SCARY MOVIE PARTY!
MR. MORIBUND'S THEATRE OF TERROR is a live stage show in the style of
classic late night TV horror show movie hosts, such as Dr, Shock,
Svengoolie, Elvira, Count Gore De Vol, Zacherley, and many others. Each show
features a classic horror or monster movie, plus commerical breaks,
comedy segments, "Stage Fright" talent performances, live music,
audience participation, costume and scream contests, raffles, and lots
of fun and screams. All of these are brought to you by Mr. Moribund and
his cast and crew of friendly freaks! It all happens at the
Riverfront Theatre on Walnut Street in lovely downtown Milford,
Delaware.

(Two of these folks were special guests and another isn't in the cast
anymore, but this is such a great pic that I always want to use it.)

WHAT IS ALL OF THIS ABOUT, ANYWAY?
Many years ago, starting with the legendary Vampira,
television stations would air vintage horror and science fiction movies
with a host - sometimes one of the in-house broadcasters - who would
introduce the film, provide trivia and fun facts about it, and add some
additional entertainment to the movie. It was a great filler for late
night slots that needed filling, and the movies were inexpensive. This
became a tradition that grew nationwide, and began the careers of many,
many more hosts, including the two most well known horror hosts, Elvira and Svengoolie.
Your host, Mr. Moribund (who may very well be Delaware's ONLY horror
host), had two horror hosts that he enjoyed while growing up - Dr.
Shock and Stella's Saturday Night Dead, both based out of the
Philadelphia area.
Mr. Moribund's Theatre of Terror is a live show that gives you the
experience of being in the studio audience of a horror host television
program. A test pattern and vintage commercials flash on the screen
before the opening credits roll. An adorable half human, half scorpion
introduces the show and your host, an aging ghoul in a red fez and
velvet jacket. His cast and crew interrupt as he tries to start the
movie - the mushmouthed but lovable monster, the conniving landlady,
the annoying show fanboy vampire neighbor, the anger management dropout
stage manager and his nephew, the phantom of the booth, the demented
clown and her homicial doll, and the vengeful rival horror host - each
taking their turn to disrupt the show. The movie starts, but an
irritating poltergeist is possessing the projector, adding wisecracks
to the movie as it screens. There are commercial breaks, comedy
segments, live music and other performances, a break featuring a raffle
and a contest, and much more. And each episode ends with a music number
with all of the cast on stage.
The movies are vintage horror and sci-fi, usually in black and white,
and are never above a PG rating. The content is family friendly. The
show confesses outright that it is ill-rehearsed, hastily constructed,
and unprepared for the stage that it is performed on. And if you ask
any of the members of the regular audience - the "Moribunch" - they
will tell you that they wouldn't have it any other way.

"Creepy
freaks love their Christmas too!" The CHRISTMAS SCAREOL is a unique
experience. Instead of a movie, all of your favorites from the Theatre
of Terror gather and tell Christmas ghost stories in a radio play
style, upholding a holiday tradition from hundreds of years ago. Some
stories are old, some are new (and written by some of the cast and
friends of the show!) The show also features live music, raffles, and
an Awesome Holiday Sweater contest.
